poor little thing.

My mum found this little chick on her way into town, underneath a car.She brought it to mine and we popped it into a little bird box I had.

It had something wrong with its neck and was unable to fly. I rang the RSPCA for them to come and collect it, however as it was a sunday, there was no one able to pick it up that evening. The lady on the phone asked me if I was able to look after it for the night and apologised for the inconvenience, little did she know, I could not think of anything better to do with my sunday night. Looking after injured birds is definitely on my top 10 list of jobs I would like to have.

So during the night, every couple of hours I would either wake up or be woken up by the little chick and would give it a drink of water to keep it hydrated as the nice RSPCA told me to do.

So, on monday morning, I go down to work with my little friend and have to wait for the RSPCA to come pick it up.  The guy thinks it is a wren that has unsuccessfully fledged the nest.
Poor little thing.
